I have damaged frizzy hair and dont know if getting a straighter would be a good idea, I mean doesn't all that heat mess up your hair more, and possibly cause hair loss.

I mean already i have been losing hair without using a straightener, because of so much damage i even had to put a raw egg on my hair.

So what should I do? I am even going to the doctor to see if I am lacking any vitamins or what I can do to prevent the frizz and hair loss.

So that way i can have those hairstyles I mentioned.Get a hair straightener for these styles or stick to just shampoos and conditioners for anti frizz?
First note that anti-frizz products alone just wont do it, to stop frizz you need to start in the shower

You need to use a natural shampoo that does not dry out your hair. You see shampoos contain SLS which dry up your hair, the result is frizz!

Some conditioners are good and have special silicones and conditioners which tend to tame and put down your hair cuticle-thereby stopping the frizz.

The very best way however is to use powerful hair oil like Mira hair oil

It is a herbal hair oil treatment that conditions you hair and keeps it healthy and nourished

Use it two times a week. Doing this will stop the drying out process that causes hair frizz to begin with

Try a good quality tea tree shampoo. Are there any anti dandruff shampoos that dont fade your hair colour?
good answer, most ppl here didn't even read the question:S and advised head n shoulders...one of the best ones TO FADE COLOR! Report Abuse

I don't have a lot of dandruff unless I don't wash it for a long long time, then it gets horrible and looks worse. I just give my hair a really good shampoo (using any shampoo) and scalp massage to get it all out, and then it looks fine.
I dont really know.. maybe Head and Shoulders, i think they thay have a variety of different kinds one sensitive scalps.. might be less harsh on your hair.. so the color won't fade. Try Wal-mart, CVS and other drug stores. ;)
Head and Shoulders.

Whether I straighten my hair or not, I use this shampoo and conditioner called StraightSexyHair. It relaxes curl and takes away frizz. I also use this anti-frizz serum by John Frieda.
Try using John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE Hair Serum. After Shampoo and Conditioner pump a small dime size amount onto wet or towel dry hair - work through very well. This will get rid of fly-aways, frizz and leave hair shiny as well.
I have the EXACT same problem

what I did was got a hair straightener.

Every night, I will take a shower, and after I brush my wet hair out, I put 3 squirts of hair spray in.

    Then I leave it.

In the morning, I brush my hair out for 5 minutes [[only because I have thick hair]] and then I take the straightener to it. Then I brush it 1 more time and put VERY LITTLE moose in.

Then all the curls, and frizzy is out!

    Hope it helps!! %26lt;3
I use Noodle Head by Beyond Zone you can get it at Sally Beauty supply

Dandruff problem! hav tried dandruff treatment and popular anti dandruff shampoos.not working.Suggestions?

I have fought dandruff and flaking too and it seemed like none of the shampoos worked. I was told that a good condtioning oil would help and found a product called Wildroot Creme oil in the men's hair section at Walgreens. About once a week I wet my hair down, then apply the Wildroot liberally and massage it into my scalp and hair. I comb my hair back and leave it in all day. Then wash it out with normal shampoo. My scalp no longer flakes, and my hair is in great condition.Dandruff problem! hav tried dandruff treatment and popular anti dandruff shampoos.not working.Suggestions?
When you wash your hair, make sure you are rinsing it throughly.

That may be your problem, not dandruff.Dandruff problem! hav tried dandruff treatment and popular anti dandruff shampoos.not working.Suggestions?
try a shampoo with tea tree oil, those dandruff shampoos generally dont work, they just pack down the dandruff and you think its working. they also tend to dry out your hair and create alot of build up.
Try a deep conditioner you may not have dandruff just a dry scalp. Drinking lots of water will help too.
have u tried selsum blue? if so then use it and scrub your head hard with it. then wash and scrub it out really really good. after that (same shower not a seperate one) use a normal shampoo and scrub the same. then use a normal conditioner and scrub the same. make sure to get all of the soap out of your hair. that should help.
An effective dandruff shampoo is nizoral, which has a 1 or 2% solution of an antifungal. Avoid any shampoo with zinc pyrithone or selenium sulfide. They burn your scalp and will make it itch and flake even more.

Also avoid shampoo with eucalyptus or heavy fragrance.

If you have acne, its probably linked to your dandruff problem. If you get treatment such as antibiotics, you will find your dandruff problem gets better along with your skin.

So try nizoral for a week, then use a gentle low or fragrance free shampoo for 2-3 weeks, then repeat.
It could be fungal and you may need a prescription-strength anti-fungal shampoo and/or pill called Diflucan. Your doctor will have to test some of the flakes to see how to treat it! Good luck! :)
Well u can try to use the dandruff shampoo from walmart the Equate brand, that seemed to work for mom. she tried all the expensive brands, and Equate worked
I know this sounds crazy, but it works. Listerene. Apply in a spray bottle or with a cotton ball. Use the original brown. No blue or orange stuff. This is also supposed to keep lice away.
I have dandruff to so my mom uses Motions and Olive oil shampoos and conditioners they really work but also you may have growing dandruff which makes your hair grow (that's what i have). Also all of the dandruff won't leave your hair but a good scratch while washing gets out the dandruff wash your hair a good 2 or 3 times every 3 to 4 weeks.

Are there any all-natural anti-dandruff shampoos?

Because of my incredibly thick hair, my scalp gets no oxygen and subsequently dies and flakes, creating a massive amount of dandruff (at least that is what the beautician said...). I currently use Head and Shoulders, which works just fine for the most part, but I was wondering if anyone knew of an all-natural anti-dandruff shampoo. I know that there are plenty of different lines of all-natural shampoos like Burt's Bees and several others, but I have not yet seen an anti-dandruff product from any of these.

The main problem that I can see clearly is that every anti-dandruff shampoo uses acids and chemicals to get the desired effect... which leads me to believe that by being an anti-dandruff product, these shampoos inherently cannot be natural.

Please let me know if you know of anything!

PS, I have tried all-natural tea tree shampoo that promised great results but it ended up making my dandruff even worse. Are there any all-natural anti-dandruff shampoos?

What is the point of ';anti-frizz'; conditioners and shampoos when the problem is caused by lack of moisture?

whats the difference between moisturizing and ';anti-frizz'; shampoos and conditioners? What is the point of ';anti-frizz'; conditioners and shampoos when the problem is caused by lack of moisture?
Well, they are basically the same. Both target moisture to get rid of frizz. I find that Anti-frizz generally dries out my hair more than moisture shampoo :S Moisture shampoos and conditioner are my favorite. I love love love Herbal Essences Hello Hydration! It has won many beauty awards and makes your hair nice. If you want a more expensive alternative, look for Redeken All Soft. The frizz fighting battle is never over. What is the point of ';anti-frizz'; conditioners and shampoos when the problem is caused by lack of moisture?
Anti-frizz helps to prevent getting those tiny hairs that stick out when you're done styling etc, Moisturizer is for really frizzy hair and helps it to be less frizzy, less curly etc.

For a quick fix you can use Selsun dandruff treatment. It's easy-to-use and you only have to use it once or twice a week.

For continual consistent use, there is Head and Shoulders shampoos and conditioners, which also work but need consistent use.
Head and Shoulders is great. Try Scalpicin if you have an itchy scalp.

its difficult indeed to get rid of dandruff there is no proven home remedies, first have u r head shaven completely apply some salisylic acid lotion (kerancyl lotion, from ducray co.,) once daily while u go to bed ,in the morinig wash the scalp with sebamed antidandruff shampoo, that should do wonders wish u all the best

Without a doubt the best anti-dandruff shampoo is Neutrogena T-Gel !! It's dark amber colored and it has a pretty strong smell because it contains coal tar extracts! But it's not offensive or anything and it really works to get rid of plain old dandruff and even the more stubborn kind called ';psoriasis'; (hope I spelled that right!!). It is a little pricey, but worth every penny to have fresh (and flake free) hair!I have frequent dandruff on my hair. how do i get rid of this? i tried many anti-dandruff shampoos already.?
I totally hear you man. I've had the same problem for years.

I've finally found something that works for me. I use Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo. Expensive, but marvelous. It has menthol so it exposes the scalp. AFTER that, I use Head and Shoulders Intensive Treatment (The orange stuff, best you can buy over the counter). Lastly, I use the Tea Tree conditioner to moisturize.

If that still doesn't work, it's time to see a dermatologist and get a prescription. Don't stop until you get it fixed. Unfortunately, people react very negatively to dandruff, especially if you're young, and assume things about you that can hurt you socially and professionally.
Try tea tree shampoo--I have dandruff, and that's worked better for me than ';dandruff'; shampoos. Paul Mitchell has a good tea tree shampoo. Plus, your scalp tingles when you use it--feels great!
I just bought a copper bristle brush for my mom, a dry scalp sufferer. It's made by Goodie and I got it at Shopper's Drugs. She's had it ( the brush) for about 10 days and her flakes disappeared. She says it gives her scalp a nice sensation to brush her hair with it. It's meant for use by people with dandruff or psoriasis.
This may not be dandruff.Maybe the products you use like gels and hair stiffining stuff...

Try shampooing with a aloe based shampoo for a few weeks..Aloe vera helps to heal the scalp and other things too..... Use a moisturizer after shampooing and let it stay on the scalp for awhile......

Keep your body hydrated ,drink lots of water......
Try putting Sea Breeze ( astringent) on cotton balls and running it over your scalp in sections. I hear that this works when shampoos don't.
I had the same problem. I chose CREW shampoo and conditioner. No dandruff now. Yes!
Try shampooing with herbal shampoos. They are not harmful. Apply alo based shampoo. After shampooing rinse the hair clearly. Avoid gels and conditioners.Rinse the hair with neem water.Try to keep the hair cleean always. Don't apply much oil.
Dandruff is one of the major disorders of the scalp.Poor hygiene, improper diet ,sluggish condition of the scalp caused by poor blood circulation are the main causes of dandruff. A herbal rinse is a safe method of removing dandruff. Apply lemon juice with the rind on the scalp .After 5 minutes wash off with shampoo and water. How to get rid of dandruff, tried lots of anti-dandruff shampoos..!!?

Check out this article to not only find an anti-dandruff shampoo, but to also learn how to properly apply it: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article鈥?/a>How to get rid of dandruff, tried lots of anti-dandruff shampoos..!!?
Hair gels and other hair products can irritate the scalp in some people. For a while, try doing without whatever you have been using, or change to a different product.

Do not scratch your scalp. When you shampoo, massage your scalp without scratching. Scientists have looked at hair from dandruff sufferers who scratch, using an electron microscope that magnifies 400 times. They could see fingernail marks, damaging the hair at its root.

If your dandruff is mild, try shampooing your hair twice a week using any shampoo labelled 鈥榝requent use, for dry hair鈥?(not an ordinary 鈥榓ntidandruff鈥?shampoo). This will remove the flakes that are being shed, and the moisturizer in the shampoo will protect the scalp.

Avoid dyeing your hair (unless you absolutely must). We all have bacteria on our scalp, some of which are beneficial. These 鈥榞ood鈥?bacteria prevent dandruff yeast, and hair dyes reduce their numbers.

If you want to try a natural remedy, boil four heaped tablespoons of dried thyme in half a litre of water (just under a pint) for 10 minutes. Let it cool and strain it through a sieve into a jar. Massage some of the liquid onto your scalp three times a week. Do not rinse it out.

Look for a shampoo containing tea tree oil. Research from Australia (published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology in 2002) showed that a 5% tea tree oil shampoo improved dandruff by 41%, which means that, although it did not get rid of the dandruff completely, there was a noticeable improvement.

For more severe dandruff, you need to deal with the yeast. This means looking carefully at the small print on the antidandruff shampoo in your local pharmacy. You could start by trying a shampoo containing selenium sulfide, which has an anti-yeast effect. Wet your hair, rub the shampoo onto your scalp and rinse off. Repeat, leaving the shampoo for 3鈥? minutes before rinsing off. Do not use selenium sulfide within 48 hours of applying a hair colorant or a perm lotion. Some shampoos contain zinc pyrithione, another anti-yeast chemical.

The most effective treatment is an anti-yeast shampoo containing ketoconazole which, in some countries, you can buy from a chemist without a doctor鈥檚 prescription. Wet your hair, rub the shampoo onto your scalp and rinse off. Repeat, leaving the shampoo for 3鈥? minutes before rinsing off. Use it twice a week for 2鈥? weeks to clear the dandruff, and then once every 2 weeks, using a normal shampoo in between times.

Antidandruff conditioners are also available. How to get rid of dandruff, tried lots of anti-dandruff shampoos..!!?
Selsun Blue and Head and Shoulders are really good shampoos cause I've used it myself and it worked really well. Make sure while shampooing(i don't even know if dats a word lolz) you really scratch deep through your hair and when you first apply the shampoo leave it in for about 3-5 minutes.

Oh and a piece of advice, don't go around using just anyone's comb, it could be harmful to your scalp if they have any hair issues. Hope I Helped!! :D

Anyone ever used AVON anti-dandruff or purifying shampoos before?

Does head & shoulders ,pantene ,dove shampoos contain anti DTH compounds?

Not sure, but I know they all contain SLS...

    * Sodium Laurel or Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) – Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in OVER 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived'; - and is found in many popular body washes and toothpastes!

Yes.For excessive dandruff I use to use Nizoral Medicated shampoo twice a week for two weeks then once a week therafter I use Nizoral shampoo with my other shampoo Rejoice anti-dandruff.Now I'm using head and shoulder menthol variant which seems to be more effective for me than their other variants. I notice that after awhile I still get dandruff every now and then.So I guess Nizoral is still the best medicated dandruff shampoo because your dandruff will disappear after 2 weeks but you still have to use it once a week to be effective(but it make my hair stiff and dry I need to condition it)
I heard the best brand is TEA TREE. It is a scalp moisturizer and helps with dry scalp. I bought it for a friend and he loves it. I bought it at a salon, but you get what you pay for.
No, I'm not using any anti-dandruff shampoo. But I know a good one, Selsun Blue have you heard about that one.Very effective and it helps the itchiness to go away.

Dandruff is nothing to do with bacteria, it's due to a fungus.Nizoral shampoo contains an active ingredient called ketoconazole, which is an anti-fungal medicine. So yes it treats he underlying problem too.

Dandruff is an itchy skin disorder of the scalp that occurs during the normal process of the scalp鈥檚 skin replacing skin cells. It is associated with a tiny fungus called Pityrosporum ovale. This fungus normally lives on our bodies and scalp all the time without causing issues. For some of us, this fungus goes out of control causing the symptoms.Do anti dandruff shampoos like Nizoral get rid of the bacteria, the underlying problem, causing the dandruff,?
it's a good shampoo to start off with, then it stops working.

Do anti dandruff shampoos like Nizoral get rid of the bacteria, the underlying problem, causing the dandruff,?

or just 'strip the scalp' of it?Do anti dandruff shampoos like Nizoral get rid of the bacteria, the underlying problem, causing the dandruff,?
Dandruff is nothing to do with bacteria, it's due to a fungus.Nizoral shampoo contains an active ingredient called ketoconazole, which is an anti-fungal medicine. So yes it treats he underlying problem too.

Dandruff is an itchy skin disorder of the scalp that occurs during the normal process of the scalp鈥檚 skin replacing skin cells. It is associated with a tiny fungus called Pityrosporum ovale. This fungus normally lives on our bodies and scalp all the time without causing issues. For some of us, this fungus goes out of control causing the symptoms.Do anti dandruff shampoos like Nizoral get rid of the bacteria, the underlying problem, causing the dandruff,?
it's a good shampoo to start off with, then it stops working.

if you have a problem with your scalp I would highly recommend Kiehl's anti dandruff shampoo (available in this country from Space NK) it is the best stuff that I have ever used and do not suffer at all anymore, it has good results and I've been using it for 2 years.

Can I use a Anti-Dandruff product and my usual Shampoo/Conditioner too?

    Hi there :)

I have a little bit of a dandruff problem.

I looked up on Y!A about which product is suitable

    and found T-Gel by Neutrogena

My regular shampoo and conditioner is Rose Hips By Herbal Essences Classics

    I'm just wondering:

    1) Can i use an anti-dandruff product and then use my regular shampoo?

    2) If I only use the dandruff product, and my dandruff stops, can i go back to using my regular without worrying if it will come back?

    10 points for Best Answer!

Thanks so so much in advance ;)Can I use a Anti-Dandruff product and my usual Shampoo/Conditioner too?
    1) Yes you can. I do because I find that dandruff shampoo is thicker and conditions better.

    2) It shouldn't come back because dandruff is a bacteria and the shampoo should have killed it. However, many people with dry scalp think they have dandruff when they really don't and it may come back. I have very dry scalp so I use Herbal Essences Smooth and Sleek because it is very conditioning and I have no more flakes! Can I use a Anti-Dandruff product and my usual Shampoo/Conditioner too?
it's been two months since i was told this (the best 2 mo for my hair ever) don't waste money on dandruff shampoos. instead, every time you wash your hair with your HE add 1 tblspoon of sugar to shampoo and wash/rinse as usual. oh and only wash hair with cold water. try it. i did. and i a SOOO THANKFULL
    1) yes you can, but its best if you just use the T-Gel.

2)well, use it for a couple of days after its gone, then go back to using your regular shampoo.

    Hope i helped :)

I have a full head of grey hairs. I'm only 27. Do you think its my shampoo that i'm using as its Anti Dandruff

Go to the store and get some dye. Make sure to get your normal color and no one will notice.I have a full head of grey hairs. I'm only 27. Do you think its my shampoo that i'm using as its Anti Dandruff
you just inherited gray hair at an early age. I'm 26 and have some gray hair, and if you look at my family history its normal, and probably normal in your family also. If your worried about it dye it. Its not your shampoo that is making you go gray.I have a full head of grey hairs. I'm only 27. Do you think its my shampoo that i'm using as its Anti Dandruff
No. It could be due to genetics or due to premature graying.

If you're insecure about it, just color your hair
I don't think so, but you could always change shampoos for a while and see if anything changes.
No, its not your shampoo. FYI - Dandruff shampoos contain carcinogens (Cancer causing agents)
No. You may have a genetic disposition. Ask your father when his grey hairs started to show.
no i wouldn't say so. i'd say ure worrying 2 much about life. my advice is to take a week off work and sit back and relax............the husband can do the house work!

  • What are some reliable, cheap Anti-Dandruff Shampoos?

head and shoulders is pretty good. My brother had dandruff so he used this shampoo and he said it's pretty good. You apply it to your hair and wash it, but instead of rinsing it right away leave it in your hair for like 2 minutes and then rinse it.What are some reliable, cheap Anti-Dandruff Shampoos?
Neutrogena triple moisture. Not the cheapest but it works real good and it doesn't dry out your hair. What are some reliable, cheap Anti-Dandruff Shampoos?
If you buy a deep conditioner or a spray in conditioner it will take the dryness out of your scalp. Herbal Essences has one for $5.
Selsun blue or nizoral. Personally nizoral worked better for me

Do anti-dandruff shampoos help with oily hair?

like for example, i want to use loreal elvive anti dandruff shampoo (the light blue bottle), but i dont really have dandruff. will it help with my oily hair? i mean, it gets oily after like 2 days. if not, which shampoos do u recommend for oily hair?Do anti-dandruff shampoos help with oily hair?

peaceeDo anti-dandruff shampoos help with oily hair?
any kind of loreal helps with oily hair.
some dandruff shampoos will help with oily hair, I would suggest washing your hair everyday with a shampoo for oily hair. Like Suave Daily clarifying shampoo for normal to oily hair.
i dont think so. but u can probably get something for oily hair. if not try using a little less conditioner.
    try head n shoulders

Where can i get 1 gallon of anti tick/flea dog shampoo?

Hello! I'm just wondering where can i get either online or at the mall a gallon of dog shampoo in the Philippines? anti-tick/fleas preferred. It seems that they don't sell gallons there huh? I only see those little bottles worth 400-800 for 500ml and it's not enough for my dog. Do you know where I can buy one?

I am just frustrated as I don't see big sized dog shampoo. And i don't think I can ship 1 gallon of dog shampoo from USA to the Philippines, that's too much hassle.

Hope somebody can help me. I'm just worried about my dog.Where can i get 1 gallon of anti tick/flea dog shampoo?
How many dogs do you have? Is it a whole kennel? I do not think you need that much of anti tick/flea shampoo to treat a couple of dogs. There are allot of Veterinary Products that treat tick and flea, that you would not need a gallon to do the job.

You can do it a couple of ways:

    1. Medicated Shampoo- Amitraz Shampoo, it is in a plastic bottle about 500 ml worth, and it is blue. This is ONLY suitable for Medium, Large and Giant Breeds. Use as Directed.

    2. Spray-On- Frontline Brand, use as directed.

    3. Drops-On- Frontline Brand, variable potency depending on breed and weight.

4.Powdered Medication- Asuntol by Bayer, use as directed.

Personally I use Amitraz Shampoo for my dog, and Essential Fatty Acid (EFA, like Omega 3 %26amp;6), regular deworming also helps the dog. If your dog's skin is riddled with bites, visit your Vet. Too much itch can lead to more serious skin problems, like sarcopic and demodectic mange or other parasite that thrives under the dogs skin surface.

Without treatment, you dog could die from septic shock from infection. Also, be careful in using chemicals as these are very hazardous to pets and even to human, chemical residue can be licked by your dog off its fur and indigest it, which could lead to organ failure or reduce life span.

Is it okey to shampoo hair daily with Anti-Dandruff Head & Shoulder Shampoo?

I use it everyday with no problems at all, I use the conditioning kind and I have for about 2 years now

my hair looks great, no flakes

It does depend on how sensitive your scalp is though, proceed with cautionIs it okey to shampoo hair daily with Anti-Dandruff Head %26amp; Shoulder Shampoo?
that stuff is terrible-try paul mitchell's tea tree shampoo, you can use it every day until you feel you don't need it. then it's good to switch to a moisturizing shampoo to keep it upIs it okey to shampoo hair daily with Anti-Dandruff Head %26amp; Shoulder Shampoo?
    yes
i have a guy friend with this long, silky hair.

Long as in way long.. and that's his trick.

I mean my mom's even jealous.
head %26amp; shoulder shampoo is okay if it woks for you. but do not wash your hair every day because in a couple of years your hair will be very dry! and you don't whant that!
i dont think so i no every now again but i think normal shampoo for everyday cant remember why
NO! I can't stress this enough do not use any drug store shampoos or conditioners. Try using Control by AG. This is ok to use every day, there are some stronger ones available as well but not for everyday use. I am a Professional Hair Stylist. Head and Shoulders has a wax in it and it just covers the problem up, you need to actually fix the problem. Please take my advice I promise you will see a huge difference!
Not real you need oils to let your hair grow and by washing it everyday with H+S it will eat away at you scalp use a conditioner as well
I think it'll dry your hair out. Remember to use conditioner.
well no not really, it's not okay with any brand of shampoo,

you need your natural oil and shampoo washes it off for you so you need to wash your hair every other day and make sure to use conditioner,

you can also use the finishing touch serum by John Frieda it's really awesome,

another trick that i know some stars use (my friend worked in a salon) is to put conditioner on your hair then towel dry let it stay for a while, blow dry, and then wash with shampoo (not too much) you get the best hair!!! :)

  • Why the dandruff still existing after using continuously anti dantruff shampoos?

don't scratch too much becoz that makes dandruff too,,,

try using vasaline shampoo anti dandruff

xxxWhy the dandruff still existing after using continuously anti dantruff shampoos?
You could also be shampooing too much, not rinsing the soap out well enough,or you may actually have an underlying skin condition. Why the dandruff still existing after using continuously anti dantruff shampoos?
Those anti dandruff shampoos sometimes work and sometimes don't. I really think that the best thing to do is to go to a natural shampoo and conditioner. My whole family did this and we don't have dandruff any more and we don't have the itchy scalp anymore. Also if you have a weekend spare try this. Have a shower cap ready. Use olive oil and rub vigorously into the scalp. Put the shower cap on and leave for as long as you can. Rinse out with a little shampoo and pour a can of bubbling beer over your hair for the final rinse. It sounds crazy but it works.

For best results, take 1 tablespoon each: shikakai powder, amla powder and aritha powderadd 1 teaspoon of neem powder to this mixture if you have dandruff or scalp problems and add them to 1 cup boiling water. Allow it to sit for 10 minutes .

If you have dandruff, make sure you brush your hair while your in the shower. I have bad dandruff, so I shampoo my hair, brush it decently so I get the dandruff out, then I shampoo again. It works good. Also I don't use anti-dandruff sampoos either, I use that Garnier Fructis shampoo and it seems to keep my hair healthy. My overall advise, brush the dandruff out of your hair while in the shower.

I guess it's okay...I mix sometimes. Is it OK to use TREsemme anti breakage shampoo with tresemme vitamin c%26amp;e condiontner?
I think its okay. In fact, I would use the vit. c %26amp; e shampoo and the anti breakage conditioner. I think this would be better (if you can do it that way. Shampooing breaks your hair too and dries it out. At least this way you can add nutrients to it and then fix the damage with the conditioner because it's last. Hope that helps....
yea shampoo is shampoo and conditioner is conditioner only frequent trips once every 2months or so to the salon to get a trim will stop the breakage
It is better to use the same type and brand of shampoo and conditioner to get the best results you can. Shampoo and Conditioner work together and if you use one of each different type then you are going to make your hair more vulnerable to damage.
depend on ur haur type and donot be so mizor i mean there is no compromize on looks.

Pantene pro-v women of color anti dandruff shampoo ...?

well i used pantene pro-v women of color anti dandruff shampoo for my hair the 2nd time in a long time i noticed whenever i wash my hair with this shampoo my scalp will itch but whenever i use pantene intensive moisturizing conditioner the itching stops this also happened the 1st time i used it what could this mean? honestly i think its because my scalp is dry but im not sure.

P.S. I use to use palmers olive oil shampoo with vitamin e and my scalp would itch also so i stoped using it the 2nd time and switched to pantene but im thinking about switching back to palmers since ppl say pantene is not a good shampoo. Should i just use pantene conditer to wash my hair or what PLS HELP!!!!!!!! I DONT WANT TO KILL MY HAIR LOLS!Pantene pro-v women of color anti dandruff shampoo ...?
An itchy or flaky scalp could be indicative of a dry scalp or dirty hair, among other things. Most shampoos contain sulfates, which dry out the hair, and Pantene is no exception. Maybe you should try switching to a sulfate-free shampoo, something that's organic or natural, and this might be better for your scalp because they don't contain the harsh ingredients regular shampoo contain. Dr. Bonners, Giovanni, and Yes to Carrots are just a few of those types of shampoo.

You can also wash your hair with condition, you'd have to do it twice: once to wash, once to condition. But, you have to either clarify with homemade ingredients like baking soda, use a clarifying shampoo or conditioner, or use a regular shampoo once in a while to get ride of all the build up and stuff conditioner alone cannot remove.

What is the best OTC anti dandruff shampoo?

I have really thick hair and it has to be able to penetrate into my scalp. I am not talking about head and shoulders but a medicated type one to really resolve it. You know like one you use every 3 days. This question is for someone who has had the problem or who knows this problem. I have lots of small flakes and sometimes bigger crust flakes that attach to the scalp by my ears if it gets out of hand. I do have one i am using now that worked at first but then it stopped. Also it strips the color out of my hair. Is this going to be the case with any i try? What is the best OTC anti dandruff shampoo?
I used to use Selsun Blue medicated. It has a red cap on the bottle. It cleared my dandruff up real well for a few days before I had to use it again.

What you need to do with any anti-dandruff shampoo you get is massage it into the scalp. It helps reach the trouble area so that it can start helping you. And I'm not sure if dandruff shampoo is supposed to ruin your hair color but I know Head and Shoulders has all kinds of different treatments for different kind of hair. They may have one for color if the medicated shampoo doesn't work. What is the best OTC anti dandruff shampoo?

Is there an alternative to anti fungal shampoo?

im quite sure my horse has a fungus. it was just on his head, but now im noticing it on his legs and shoulder. id like to get an anti fungal shampoo, but its not looking like farm %26amp; fleet carries it and that's the only horse store around. id rather not order online cause it will take a while to come and ill have to pay shipping. is there any alternative i could use/make that i wont have to order online? Is there an alternative to anti fungal shampoo?
Vetadine/Betadine wash is good. Also Hexil and a lime/sulfur wash work wonders. But the easiest thing to do would be to go to your local chemist/pharmacist (or vet - but it's more expensive there) and ask for a bottle of Chlorhexadine - we were recommended it by our vet and it is great. It kills 99.9% of bugs and is used as a surgical scrub. If your horse has scabs on this fungal area, pick them off first and then use this wash, making sure you get right into the fleshy areas, preventing it spreading. We usually wash our horses and work it in for about 10-20mins and get great results. Good luck!Is there an alternative to anti fungal shampoo?
Try an iodine bath half cup iodine to 2 gallons of water... hopefully you got a sorrel/ red horse tho cause it will stain for a while. betadine is the same thing but less concentrated.
i agree with just ride it.

But if it comes down to it contact your local vet and ask for other solutions or antidotes.

  • Can I use an anti-dandruff shampoo on my two and a half year old's head?

My daughter (21/2) has excema and treating her with aqueous cream, olive oil and a mild steroid ointment helps. However I have noticed her scratching her head quite a bit, and I do use Johnson's Baby Shampoo and conditioner on her hair, I have even used Aqueous cream in the bath and applied it to her head - and olive oil. I can only imagine the scratching is part of her excema and wondered if their is more I can do to alleviate her discomfort. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.Can I use an anti-dandruff shampoo on my two and a half year old's head?
I would try Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Wash. Or...I always used Mustela Foam Shampoo for Newborns on my kids (even though they are not newborns!) as it seemed to keep their cradle cap/dry scalp in check. You might find that the fragrance in the Johnson's shampoo %26amp; conditioner is causing your daughter's eczema to worsen as well. Sometimes strong fragrances, etc. can cause an eczema breakout as it is sort of an allergic reaction in sensitive skin. Although I have always liked the smell of Johnsons, I've noticed it can be quite strong. Try a fragrance free product for sensitive skin. I have heard good things about Burt's Bees Baby products from friends, although I have yet to try myself. Maybe even Aveeno products.

I hope your little girl feels better...eczema can be so itchy and annoying! Can I use an anti-dandruff shampoo on my two and a half year old's head?
Anti dandruff shampoo might add too many harsh substances to her head that could cause it to dry it out even more. Have you ever tried on supplements? Or feeding her some oily fish? Tinned salmon, tuna and sardines are excellent - it will help reduce the inflammation. (assuming she doesn't have any allergies). Fish oil supplements might be just enough to help cure the dryness from the inside! Your pharmacist or gp will have some advice, but if you're able to, try talking to a naturopath.
most anti dandruff shampoo works by removing a layer of skin, so it is really bad for sensitive skin, i cant use it! makes it worse, si in my opinion it wouldnt be a good idea on some one so young and with bad skin, i would either ask the doctor, or use oilitum in the bath, or even cradle cap shampoo, i use it as an adult as i have very sensitive skin and it works well, and its mild so wont irratate, i was advised not to use johnsons baby stuff on my daughter, she has excema and my health vistor said its quite highly perfumed nad not great for extra sensitive skin, also thres a range called simple which is great!! cos it has no soap in it, no colour, no fragrance. soap dries the skin out, especially in children. liquid parafin is good, like the oilitum i mentioned before... hope this helped...
Soak your childs head with baby oil and sit her down and use a soaf brush and comb it removing the flakes , then shampoo her hair with a good shampoo. do this a few times a week for about a month and that should get rid of her proplem. Good Luck
I don't have excema but I've heard of a brand in the UK, Halos and Horns which a woman developed for her son (?) who had excema.

I wouldn't use an adult anti-dandruff shampoo. These work by stripping off the top layer of [flaky] skin, so will be too harsh on a childs delicate scalp.
T-gel...the dark one is best for this....talk to the pharmacist.

Try to get her to lay down in the tub for as long as she can to loosen up the scales that are itching. Then wash her head and do not use your nails. Just rub gently with your fingers.

Or take her to a dermatologist and the doctor will give you medications and shampoos . Each time she scratches she may open up her skin and she will be exposed to all sorts of things .
If I were you I would definitely consult your daughter's pediatrician because you don't want to risk using any of these products and having them cause harm to your daughter's hair. Take the safe way and ask your doctor for advice.
Read the label on your shampoo it shuld be stupidly detailed on what you can and cant use it on. They even tell you how to open the damn cap, for Bliss' sakes. :P
I do not think anti-dandruff shampoo is for children. You pediatrician would be able to recommend a children's dandruff treatment.
No, please don't use dandruff shampoo if it isn't dandruff. Ask your doctor for something; I am sure there is something available for her.

If you are using the right type for your hair type, no. i love head and sholders, they have it for normal/dry hair. this is a good product for frequent use. however my No 1 anti dandruff shampoo remains that of Neutrogena. it doesn't smell nice at all but it really does its job! What I do is frist wash my hair with my normal shampoo, then second wash using Neutrogena, then after that I still use my normal conditioner. This way I don't end up with dryer hair or smelling funny!

Go spend a few bucks on some anti-fog wipes. They'll work far far better than any DIY method you find. They're usually under $10 and will last you a long time.
I wear glasses under my goggles as well, but prefer to use anti-fog wipes on my goggles ONLY.

Wipes convert vision impairing fog to clear condensation, which goes away quickly on goggles, but makes my glasses wet and distorts my vision. My thick gloves and wool clothing aren't well suited for drying wet glasses.

Instead of wiping my goggles and glasses, I wipe the goggles and then just and lift my goggles every 10 minutes to defog the glasses. Works perfectly.

Yes, Johnson %26amp; Johnson baby baths works as it forms a layer over your goggles so it can't fog. In fact, it is a cheaper alternative than anti-fog goggles. The only downide is if you add too much shampoo, the shampoo will slowly flow down and gather at the bottom of the goggles, which can be irritating.

Do anti hair loss shampoo really works? 10 points!?

Some of them do yes. Also leaving a hat off helps, taking vitamins for the hair and nails works also... but the best shampoo is the Horse hair tail and mane for your hair and can be brought at Wal-Mart for about 6.00 or a little more or less depending on were you live. Also get the conditioner for it makes the hair strong and helps it grow back. A lot of hair loss is due to stress and weakness of the hair. You will notice a difference in about 3 weeks for I know for my hair started coming out due to so many surgeries and using this shampoo really did the trick. So check with your Dr. if your under a lot of stress, and if you have a lot of bald people in your family, it just may be inherited. Oh another thing, go to Sally's beauty supplies and ask them what they have if you or not happy with this idea, they have everything you can think of and I know that someone there can help you.. So happy hair growing back, My hair is full now and I can wear it anyway I want to. For when I get it cut, no one has to do anything to it but blow dry it and it stays in the style I had it cut in.... my hair dressers love it.. AnnDo anti hair loss shampoo really works? 10 points!?
not really. it will work if follow by special treatment. after using anti hair loss shampoo, use conditioner or tonic.

The normal cycle of hair growth lasts for 2 to 6 years. Each hair grows approximately 1 centimeter (less than half an inch) per month during this phase. About 90 percent of the hair on your scalp is growing at any one time. About 10 percent of the hair on your scalp, at any one time, is in a resting phase. After 2 to 3 months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place.Depending on your type of hair loss, treatments are available. If a medicine is causing your hair loss, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine. Recognizing and treating an infection may help stop the hair loss. Correcting a hormone imbalance may prevent further hair loss.

Medicines may also help slow or prevent the development of common baldness. One medicine, minoxidil (brand name: Rogaine), is available without a prescription. It is applied to the scalp. Both men and women can use it. Another medicine, finasteride (brand name: Propecia) is available with a prescription. It comes in pills and is only for men. It may take up to 6 months before you can tell if one of these medicines is working.

It is normal to shed some hair each day as part of this cycle. However, some people may experience excessive (more than normal) hair loss. Hair loss of this type can affect men, women and children.

okay thinning hair and baldness is a genetic issue. You have hormones that don't prodce enough which leads to that. sometimes the shampoo works and sometimes they don't. it really depends on what is causing your hair issue. I would seek a dermatologiest.

I am a cosmetologest and have lots of people with this question. you have to be very careful with those stupid ads. if you are bald or have thinning hair they are noy going to make your hair appear full and lustful over night. usually its a topical cream that comes with it and you are supposed to rub it in. No if that stuff really worked i wouldn't be cutting comb overs as much as i do.

I know this is imformation overlaod. i do have good new there is something call nixon with works great to help prevent thinning and baldness. I would also take a multivinam too. your body produces 11 of of 21 viatinm your hair needs. so over time your body can't produce so your folica

    becomes weak.
depends what kind of hair loss you are having

  • Do anti hair loss shampoo prevent hair loss? 10 points!?

The exciting discovery: six years of research by the scientists led to the revolutionary conclusion that the problems of balding are caused as the result of the formation of Sodium (salt) in the hair case which is located at the root of the hair including a fat gland, similar to a pump, whose function is to lubricate the scalp and to protect it against cold, penetration of bacteria, and dryness, as well as feed the root of the hair. The sodium a kind of Salt which is exuded to the scalp as a result of tension, faulty nutrition or hereditarily. When the pump in the fat gland works properly, the sodium is excreted in the form of dandruff. When the pump is failing no sodium is execrated and it settles in the case, and the hair falls out. This is the place to remark, that the case of the hair at the side of the head and the rear point downwards, and consequently there is a ';leakage'; of sodium outside the case, and that is the reason that there is no balding at the sides and the rear, while in the center and in the ';bay'; of the head the sodium blocks the case, and the case of the hair points upwards and causes the burning of the hair root and its falling out.

The revolutionary solution: Dead Sea Premier anti-hait loss shampoo, applying a formula of root acids consisting if Ginseng and minerals combined with a secret CRSFO which acts in a fourfold function: the first is the neutralization of the sodium to the base, the second is the activation of the pump of the oil gland, the third is the feeding of the hair root with oxygen carotene and pigments, the fourth is the exploitation of the hygroscopic property of the hair root and the infusion of the elements of which the hair composes; carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and sulfur, into the cells of the matrix.

    So simply yes it does!!

It's scientificly proven!Do anti hair loss shampoo prevent hair loss? 10 points!?
No. There is actually no such thing really. But it's normal to lose about a marble size amount of hair a day. Amazing, yes. Also, the hair loss may be due to constant hair dying or hair dye in general, brushing too hard, a certain product you use, maybe a shampoo and/or conditioner you use that is too strong for your hair.Do anti hair loss shampoo prevent hair loss? 10 points!?
Nope it's just a con to get your money. My friend has been using them for ages and he looks no different. He's now gone and had some laser treatment on his hair. It's suppose to take 6-8 session and then it stimulates the hair to regrow. My A**E it does. He's had 7 session and he looks no different, his hair is thinning and he just has to get used to the idea.
I have a friend who says it works. I have had 2 doctors tell me that Rograine really works. The only bad thing is that you have to use it forever. If you stop, it will come out. I think it is expensive too. Try the shampoo and other products in the same line first.
I dont know if they really work. BUT i do know that a lot of the products to help hair grow back only PREVENT it from falling out. so try that :)

I don't feel there is a shampoo for anti hair loss. You can try some ayurvedic hair oils for good effect. Reduce your stress levels by doing meditation like yoga. Eat lot of vegetables and fruits in diet. Also using hair oil is recomended to stop hair loss. Start meditating regularly for reducing the stress levels. Also exercise to keep the blood flow normal. Apart from this check if you have dandruff, as its the main cause of hairloss in many. I have read a related article somewhere on stophairlossquick.com and it did benefit me.

How do anti dandruff shampoos work ?

i thought dandruff was simply dead skin. how do these shampoos work? How do anti dandruff shampoos work ?
There are several causes of dandruff - some people's skin builds up layers of skin faster than it sheds off, some dandruff is caused by a skin yeast.

To address these problems, some dandruff shampoos have salicylic acid which helps slough off old skin cells more quickly. Other shampoos have ingredients to kill skin yeast. How do anti dandruff shampoos work ?
They clear out all the dead stuff then leave your hair and scalp to slowly disintegate then regenerate.

    Enjoy......

    you keen bloke
    they moisturize ur scalp
    they moisturize ur scalp.
you leave the shampoo in your hair for 3mins. and it eats it up or gets it off your head somehow and then it just rinses off
They get rid of the dandruff after you keep it on for three to four mins. but you must also ensure that you keep your scalp moisturized to make sure that there are no future breakouts of dandruff.
i may be assassinated for telling you this but its full of nano machines.. they eat up the DNA from your dead skin and send that data to the section 8

once all the information is gathered, a clone is made of you and one day you get replaced..

and sent to a alien world where you put to work as a slave and have to eat stale hostess cupcakes and tap water to survive

so my advice is dont use it.. or any soap products or make up..
idk but they do work use head and shoulders
By moisturising the scalp, preventing more dead skin from falling off. Just like when you wash your face with something too strong and it gets a little flaky, then you have to exfoliate (like when you massage your head while washing your hair), then you moisturise

    xx
1] they have medication, like pyrithione zinc, or salicylic acid, to help detach and prevent flakes

2] they have moisturizers to also help prevent flakes

Next time you get a sunburn or blister, look at the dead skin - it doesn't look much like the flakes, because those flaky skin cells have overproduced, and defectively enough that they stick together.
Dandruff is dead skin cells. Dandruff shampoo works because it is high in alkaline. This strips off any dead skin cells from the scalp. It does not cure dandruff, just a very strong shampoo to remove the loose (or dead) skin cells.

Has anyone tried Redken extreme products (shampoo, CAT treatment, anti snap treatment etc)?

I have badily damaged hair and breakage from a hairdresser ruining my hair with hair dye, and was wondering if using these products would help. If they are effective I don't mind paying out the money.Has anyone tried Redken extreme products (shampoo, CAT treatment, anti snap treatment etc)?
Redkan CAT treatment is by far THE BEST HAIR PRODUCT I have EVER used!

My hair is badly damaged by over bleaching (Think Gwen Steffani) - Its THAT blonde and was in terrible condition, snapping, falling out and felt like cotton wool.

CAT restors the hair from the inside out - I bought one box of CAT first off and used it everytime I washed my hair. Now I just use it once a week and my hair is in FANTASTIC condition.Has anyone tried Redken extreme products (shampoo, CAT treatment, anti snap treatment etc)?
I love this product I can't go back to regular brands anymore. Try their Redken Extreme anti-snap if you have alot of breakage and split ends. Its fantastic. The products have a lite green apple scent its great. just after using them once i saw a huge improvement. Report Abuse

YES REDKEN IS EXCELLENT IS VERY CONCERTRATED SO YOU WONT HAVE TO USE MUCH AND IT WOULD LAST YOU FOR QUITE A LONG TIME!!
I'm a swimmer, and chlorine was wreaking havoc on my hair. My stylist recommended Redken All-soft shampoo and conditioner, followed by Extreme Anti-Snap. When I blowdry, I work in some Redken Smoothdown serum--you can also use this as a gloss to finish.

I was suspicious, because I don't usually spend that much on my hair, but it's actually been worth it. I've noticed a big difference in how my hair looks and feels; it also gets greasy more slowly, so I can get away with washing it every other day.

So I'd highly recommend a product upgrade. Quick tip--if you get small bottles and like them, you can go to a beauty supply store and get bottles that are 4 times as big for twice the price, so that helps make it more affordable to use the products.
yes it is extremely good but very expensive if you don,t mind paying use it you will feel the different
I have used it, but my hair didn't feel any different. I had my hair bleached about a year ago, and it was really brittle. My hair still breaks, but now I use Redkin Smooth (or something like that) and my hair feels soft and not nearly as distressed.

GIRLS HELP! Can I blow dry my hair and use anti frizz shampoo and conditioners to get Zac Efron type of hair?

I need to know cuz my hair is pretty frizzy and I want to have it like Zac Efron or Luis Fonsi.

But i dont have money for a straightener, plus I hear that a straightener damages hair and I cant afford that as I already have damaged frizzy hair.

Is it possible that i can get that kind of hairstyle without using a straightener and by just blow drying and using the frizzologie treatments of infusium 23 steps 1-3

HELP PLEASE! it would be much appreciated and would make my day thanks =)GIRLS HELP! Can I blow dry my hair and use anti frizz shampoo and conditioners to get Zac Efron type of hair?
Yes, it's possible but it is also very difficult to tame hair a certain way with products. Having a styling tool (like a straightener) is much easier.

There are many cheap straighteners that do the job. Go to Walmart or Big Lots and you can find Conair ones for about 20 bucks. They work pretty well. Also, straighteners do damage hair but there are heat protection sprays. When you use them, your hair is ';protected'; and doesn't get damaged much. You can buy that at Walmart as well. The Treseme Heat Tamer Spray is 6 bucks and works great. Just spray it in real quick before you straighten your hair; there is nothing to it.

I really think you should just get a cheap straightener, heat protection spray and a anti-frizz serum(Try the John Frieda Frizz-ease Original Formula hair serum. It is at Walmart and Walgreens for about 5 bucks). In the long run I think it would be cheaper. The spray and serum last a long time. And the straightener of course.

With whatever you decide, I wish you luck :)GIRLS HELP! Can I blow dry my hair and use anti frizz shampoo and conditioners to get Zac Efron type of hair?
Dye hair brown with golden highlights

Get a razored hair cut with many layers. Have your bangs eyebrow lengthish and to your left.

Apply heat protecting gel and straighten (straightening is an option if you have wavy hair.).

Apply gel to style and hold your hair.

Doing this will stop the drying out process that causes hair frizz to begin with

    try it for free
