Do anti dandruff shampoos like Nizoral get rid of the bacteria, the underlying problem, causing the dandruff,?

or just 'strip the scalp' of it?Do anti dandruff shampoos like Nizoral get rid of the bacteria, the underlying problem, causing the dandruff,?
Dandruff is nothing to do with bacteria, it's due to a fungus.Nizoral shampoo contains an active ingredient called ketoconazole, which is an anti-fungal medicine. So yes it treats he underlying problem too.

Dandruff is an itchy skin disorder of the scalp that occurs during the normal process of the scalp鈥檚 skin replacing skin cells. It is associated with a tiny fungus called Pityrosporum ovale. This fungus normally lives on our bodies and scalp all the time without causing issues. For some of us, this fungus goes out of control causing the symptoms.Do anti dandruff shampoos like Nizoral get rid of the bacteria, the underlying problem, causing the dandruff,?
it's a good shampoo to start off with, then it stops working.

if you have a problem with your scalp I would highly recommend Kiehl's anti dandruff shampoo (available in this country from Space NK) it is the best stuff that I have ever used and do not suffer at all anymore, it has good results and I've been using it for 2 years.
